Postdoctoral Associate, University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine & Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, USA
I am a postdoctoral associate at the University of Pittsburgh with interdisciplinary training in microbial ecology/evolution, molecular epidemiology, and metagenomics. I earned my master's degree in Life Science from National Taiwan University and Ph.D. in Veterinary Medical Sciences from the University of Florida, where my research focused on emerging viral and bacterial pathogens in farmed white-tailed deer, integrating field surveillance, necropsy, molecular diagnostics, and genomic analyses.
My expertise spans One Health–oriented pathogen ecology, wildlife/farmed animal epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance, and microbial genomics. I have extensive experience with wet-lab methods (PCR/qPCR, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, Illumina sequencing) and dry-lab analyses (whole-genome analysis, phylogenetics, AMR profiling, and microbiome analysis in R and Python).
Beyond academia, I enjoy open-water swimming, triathlon, and yoga, and I hold certifications as a lifeguard and lifeguard coach.
